The brim has been k1p1. However, the body looks different. Are all the body stitches knit stitches when working in the round? Oh well, I get to make another one! One good fix is to up the needle size and see how that works, but you can also add a couple stitches to the pattern — for example, add 2 stitches to each chart row repeats 3 times to reach 96 stitches total.
